Taylor Insurance was started by Douglas Grant Burton Taylor. Douglas, born May 31st 1924, had just left the war and decided to purchase a small book of business from an older man in Abbotsford. 

( A book of business is : A total of all insurance accounts written by a company or agent. It may be treated in different ways. For example: an insurer's book of automobile business, or an agent's overall book of business, or an agent's book of business with each insurer.)

Doug and his wife Elsie ran the office until 1980 when they welcomed Grant Taylor, their second son, to join them. Doug continued to run the office until 1998. Doug and Elsie were available day and night as you could call them up at anytime. In 1984 Doug Jr, their 4th child, joined in on the family business and took over running the business in 1998. Doug Jr. still runs Taylor Insurance today.

Though many things have changed over the years (like technology) Doug Jr. has made a conscious effort to keep true to Taylor Insurance's family run roots.  Taylor Insurance is proud to be one of the few individually owned and operated insurance offices still running. Most of the others have been purchased one at a time by large conglomerates. 

Taylor Insurance is proud to still be a part of Mt. Lehman, servicing the public on its own land for over 60 years!
